Pan-fried Tofu. I tried it with Tofoo and it tastes pretty authentic to the Korean version, a common side dish in many Korean households. If you are near a Asian grocer, get Firm Tofu. You can also enjoy this as a main or just on its own!
What you need:
Tofu (1 pack)
Oil (1/2-1 Tbsp)
Dressing:
Soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
Chopped spring onions - 1 Tbsp
Toasted Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Vinegar - 1 tsp
Optional:
Garlic - 1 tsp minced
Gochugaru - 1/2 tsp
*Sesame seed oil- few drops if you want but my mom says not needed because the tofu has already been pan fried in oil. So you don’t need more oil.
What to do:
Drain tofu and slice (about 1 cm width). Put some oil on the pan and when hot, add the tofu. Reduce heat to medium. Flip when one side is golden. Ready to serve when both sides are golden and a little bit crispy.
While the tofu is cooking, grab a small bowl to make the Dressing. Add soy sauce, spring onions, vinegar, sesame seeds, gochugaru. Give it a quick mix and spoon on the tofu OR put the dressing on the side as a dip.
Enjoy!
